The Story Behind
The Bucketwish

I already had a full life.

Thriving business. Kids, I'm proud of. Work that mattered. I wrote, produced, and directed the Mahalia Jackson story and Hulu picked it up. By any measure, things were good.

Then COVID hit and everything got quiet. And in that quiet I heard something I'd been drowning out for years — all the things I still wanted to do. Not instead of my life. In addition to it.

I started saying yes to them. I got back on the dance floor. I picked up my flute. I tried comedy. I sang. And I realized that the fullest version of me wasn't the one who had achieved things — it was the one who was still curious. Still reaching.

I made a documentary about it. Called it The BucketWish. And somewhere in making it I understood: this isn't just my story. We all have the list. We all have the reasons we haven't gotten to it yet.

The BucketWish is for all of us. Because a full life and a complete life aren't always the same thing.

You already know what's missing. Let's go get it.

WHY I CREATED THE BUCKETWISH

I’m a filmmaker, so naturally, I documented the journey. As I watched it unfold, I realized something important:

We are all so good at the "have-to's." We are great at our jobs, our families, and our responsibilities. But somewhere along the way, we often lose touch with the "want-to's."

I created The Bucketwish because I realized I wasn't the only one. I wanted to build a space where we could take those personal dreams seriously—not with pressure or hustle, but with excitement and support.

What I Believe

I’ve learned that those little nudges you feel—the desire to paint, or travel, or learn a language—aren't random. They are clues. They are pointing you toward what lights you up.

The Bucketwish isn't about adding more to your to-do list. It’s about clearing space for the things that make you feel like you again.

My Invitation to You

I don’t believe in pushing people. I believe in supporting them. That is why The Bucketwish is built on community and clarity, not willpower. It’s a place to figure out what you really want, and then have a group of people cheering you on as you make it happen.

If you have ever felt like you’re doing everything right but still missing a piece of the puzzle, you are in the right place.

I am so glad you’re here. Let’s see what’s on your list.
